POWDER AND OMBRE BROWS

Soft, shaded brows that look more like a light brush of brow powder than individual hairs. Powder and ombre brows are one of our main techniques. Each one is planned around your face, your skin and how much definition you want day to day.

ON THE SKIN

THE SHADED LOOK

Powder brows
Pigment is built up in fine shading across the brow, giving a soft, filled look with no hard outline. You might choose it if you fill your brows in with powder or pencil every morning.

Ombre brows
An ombre brow is a type of powder brow. The shading starts lighter at the front and gets gradually deeper towards the tail, so the front of the brow stays soft and the arch and tail have more shape.

How dense it looks
The shading can stay sheer or be more defined. We agree on that with you during the design so the brow suits your features and still looks like you, not a stencil.

STEP A

Talk it through

At consultation we look at your natural brows, your skin and any existing brow tattoo, and talk about the look you’re after. If shading isn’t the right fit for you, we’ll tell you.

STEP B

Map the shape

The brow is measured and drawn on your face before we start any tattooing. Shape, placement and where the ombre fade sits are all agreed while you look in the mirror.

STEP C

Choose pigment and shade

We choose the pigment and depth of shading to suit your skin and colouring. Then the brow is built up gradually within the shape we’ve agreed. You can read more in From Consultation to Healed Result.

AFTER THE APPOINTMENT

HEALING, FADING, MAINTENANCE

How your brows look straight after treatment is not the final result. Shaded brows often look darker and more defined at first, then soften as the skin heals. The healed colour and how evenly it settles depend on your skin, any existing pigmentation, how you heal, your lifestyle and your aftercare.

Cosmetic tattoo pigment can fade or change over time, so you may need maintenance appointments to keep the brow looking how you’d like. Comfort during treatment varies from person to person, and we’re happy to talk about it before you book.

For the full picture, read Healing, Results and Aftercare.

Results vary between clients. Cosmetic tattooing is not a medical treatment and doesn’t replace advice about skin conditions.

NOT SURE SHADING IS FOR YOU?

Powder and ombre brows are one of several brow techniques we offer. Some clients prefer a hair-stroke look, and some prefer a mix of both. We can help you decide at consultation.

02

Microblading and Feathering Brows →

Fine, hair-like strokes that work with the brow hair you already have. Choose this if you want visible strokes rather than a soft fill.

04

Nano Brows and Combination Brows →

Combination brows pair strokes at the front with shading through the body of the brow. Nano brows are another option. Both sit between strokes and shading.
